The Geographical Setup of Kaduna State.
Kaduna State occupies a central position in the map of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and a landmass of about 45, 567 square kilometers. The state lies between latitude 090 02'N and 110 32'S and between longitude 960 15'E and 080 60'E The name kaduna is derived from the Hausa word KADA which means crocodile and KADUNA is the Hausa plural word for crocodiles, which abounds in the river. Beside this river, there are other rivers like: the Gurara river, the Kagon river, the Kubanni river and Bagoma river to mention a few. The life of the people of the state has been greatly influenced by the geographical setting. The two climatic conditions in the state greatly influence activities of the people, who are predominantly occupied in agriculture during the rainy season which lasts for about six(6) months from may to october, and occupied in cultural festivals & commercial activities during the dry season which last form November to April. 
POPULATION
Kaduna State is one of the most densely populated states in Nigeria. This is as a result of the Liberal nature of the state that it accommodates all kinds of people. It has a population of Six million, One hundred and Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred and three (6,113,503) the state capital, kaduna has an estimated population of 1.3 million according to the 2006 population Census.
Some of the major ethnic groups in the state includes: Hausa, Fulani, Bajju, Ham, Gbagyi, Koro Kaninkon, Gure, Kurama, Atyap, Ikulu, Aegworok, Atakkad, Adara, Chawai, Kagoma, Kahugu, Ninzo and Numana.
